We are so excited about all of the events and discussions we've had this semester. To update you all, we are going to highlight what we have been working on so far.
Our volunteers have been working hard at our weekly programming series, technology hotline, and TeleSocial buddy efforts. Together, we have been learning a lot about how to better advocate for older adults and forming connections with residents at Villa Gardens.
In our weekly programming series, we have learned about intellectual, occupational, and emotional wellness while also participating in zoom speed dating and tech tips and tricks discussions!
Outside of volunteering, our members have also been active in general meetings learning how to be better advocates by discussing topics like elderly abuse, #StopTheAsianHate, TeleHealth, and COVID-19 vaccination. We have also become closer with one another and have brought in resident, Jean Owen, to discuss our future.
To wrap up the Spring semester, we are continuing TeleSocial buddy and technology hotline work. We also have two more April programming sessions: "Share and Tell" and "Teach and Share". Come join us for these last few opportunities before we go on summer break!
To all our volunteers, residents at Villa Gardens, executive team, and staff at Villa Gardens: thank you so much. We are so excited to see where we go in the future!
As always, if you have any questions or would like to learn more, email us at healthyaging@usc.edu.
